Coffee brings people together. It starts conversations, fuels ideas, and creates moments of connection. We wanted KIMU to carry that spirit beyond the cup, helping create opportunities for children and young people to learn, grow, and build brighter futures.
KIMU started as a family project. The name means “sprout,” and that idea shaped everything about how we built this company: small beginnings, real care, room to grow. Giving back to kids and young people isn’t a program we added on. It’s the reason KIMU exists.
KIMU donates 10% of our annual profits to nonprofit organizations that empower children and young people.
We focus on organizations working through education, mentorship, life skills, creativity, and community programs, helping young people build the confidence and skills they need to thrive.
This is a permanent part of how we do business, not a marketing campaign or a limited-time initiative. Every purchase supports that commitment and helps KIMU grow the good we can do.
We’re intentional about who we support. Rather than spreading donations across dozens of causes, each year we select a small number of organizations where our contribution can make a measurable difference in kids’ lives.
We choose new organizations every year, so our selections may change from one year to the next. We’ll introduce this year’s picks here, along with the stories behind their work, once they’re confirmed.
Giving should be transparent. Each year, we’ll share the total amount donated and which organizations we supported.
